Volunteering

The Vancouver Water Polo Club is a parent-run club, so we rely on parent volunteers to serve as organizers and in other areas to help the club.

Each family is required to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours during each season.

A volunteer deposit cheque will be collected at registration and will be refunded or pro-rated according to the number of volunteer hours completed.

At registration, parents will be asked to fill in a volunteer form.
Volunteering can be fun as Vancouver Water Polo parents are a friendly group.

Our older players are encouraged to be volunteer assistant coaches, helping with the younger players.
This helps develop leadership skills, volunteer experience, and contribute to the success of the club.
This also helps you meet community volunteer hours that may be required for high school graduation,
and résumé building experience.

Our older players and interested parents can also train to serve as referees at our games.
This experience helps develops leadership, and a mature, life-long understanding of sportsmanship
and the importance of good conduct, positive encouragement and self-restraint during amateur sporting
events. It's also a very good way to learn the rules of the game!

All parents are expected to help in any of the following ways:
